Heavily textured ceilings are often covered with ‘skim coats’, however this method requires quite a lot of skill and effort. If your home was built prior to the mid-1980s you are also running the risk of exposing asbestos which presents a major health risk.

Plaster and lath walls and ceilings with large cracks can be difficult to repair. Often the pros are called in to carefully make this type of repair, only to be called back within a year or two when the same cracks resurface. Instead of continually repairing the same problem, consider removing any loose or sagging areas of the plaster, and covering with beautiful fresh drywall. You will thank yourself in the long run!
